Mykola Pototskyy, Counsel of Doubinsky & Osharova, attorney-at-law, patent attorney, Ph.D. in Law, the head of the Committee on Intellectual Property, acting as part of the UNBA, took part in a solemn meeting of the Council of Attorneys of Ukraine
On November 17, 2021, a solemn meeting of the Council of Attorneys of Ukraine dedicated to the ninth anniversary of the foundation of the Ukrainian Bar self-government body - the National Association of Advocates of Ukraine.
Mr. Pototskyy in his speech drew participants’ attention to the fact that in 2017 the Intellectual Property High Court was established, however, competitions to fill the positions of judges have not yet been completed, and the work of the court has not begun.
Presidential Decree No. 231/2021 of June 11, 2021 approved the Strategy for the development of justice system and constitutional proceedings for 2021 - 2023, which provides that in order to provide easy access to justice it is necessary to ensure the completion of competitions for positions of judges of the Intellectual Property High Court and its Appeals Chamber, as well as create conditions for beginning of work of the court.
Given that Ukraine has already formed the first composition of the Ethical Council of the High Council of Justice, Mykola Pototskyy appealed to the Council of Attorneys of Ukraine to initiate an appeal to the UNBA regarding an immediate completion of competition procedures at the Intellectual Property High Court.
