Intellectual property rights constitute 70-90% of the value of a pharmaceutical company.
This fact explains why patent wars between originators and generics, as well as originators and biosimilar companies are very common.
It was the topic Victoria Sopilnyak, partner of Doubinsky & Osharova, gave a lecture on at Legal High School within the Special course for pharmaceutical lawyers on September 29, 2020.
Victoria focused on the following questions:
- novelties in patent law;
- Bolar exemption;
- additional protection of rights to inventions;
- post-grant opposition;
- categories of patent disputes.
The lecture was illustrated with interesting examples of patent disputes in international and Ukrainian practice.
