The problem of personal data protection in Ukraine

The problem of personal data protection in Ukraine is becoming more and more acute every year since the modern development of information technologies contributes to the widespread use of personal data in all spheres of life.

So how does Ukrainian legislation respect the personal data? The current law on the personal data protection adopted in 2010 is outdated and no longer provides a comprehensive regulation of relations in this area. In addition, according to international standards, Ukraine should establish an independent supervisory authority in this area.

However, in addition to the above, there is another one, more serious problem that prevents civilizational changes in this area, the problem local companies may encounter when entering European markets.
