Last fall the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted amendments to the Customs Code of Ukraine aimed at strengthening the protection of intellectual property rights at customs. At the end of June 2020 two Decrees of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine necessary for the implementation of these amendments came into force.
The decisions taken should bring closer the customs legislation of Ukraine in the field of intellectual property rights protection to the EU standards, as well as clean the domestic market from counterfeit products.
The Law on amendments contains new concepts and definitions, it changed some approaches and procedures. In fact, the updated Code permitted parallel import.
